Traffic diversions in place today for football match | Chennai News


Chennai: Police announced diversions ahead of the Brazil Legends vs India All Stars football match at Jawaharlal Nehru Outdoor Stadium on Sunday. With around 20,000 spectators expected, authorities urged fans to use public transport due to limited parking.
Spectators are advised to enter through the back entrance via V P Hall Park Road (Victoria Hall Road) and avoid Raja Muthaiah Salai. Those arriving from Chennai Central railway station must take a right at Park Road and use ‘B’ and ‘C’ Ground for parking.
MTC buses will not operate on Raja Muthaiah Salai and will be rerouted via EVR Road, EVK Sampath Salai, Doveton, Narayanaguru Salai, Choolai High Road and Demellows Road. Vehicles from Egmore railway station must head towards Central, turn left at Park Road, and park at the designated areas.
If congestion increases, vehicles will be diverted from Choolai roundabout to Choolai High Road, EVK Sampath Salai, and EVR Salai. Restrictions will also be in place at Jeremiah Road and Vepery High Road junction near the police station.
Diversions will be enforced from 3pm to 11pm.
Spectators using personal vehicles or taxis can park at ‘B’ and ‘C’ Ground on Stadium Park Road, Kannappar Thidal, KP Corporation Ground, Ripon Buildings, Veterinary Hospital, and Corporation Ground on Hunters Road. tnn
